Snack ideas for your wedding
Crackers and Cheese
Spread soft cream cheese over each cracker. Slice up some cheddar, camembert, pepper cheese and any other cheese you like into small pieces. Top each cracker with a piece of cheese. You can also add a small slice of meat, such as ham, sugar ham, salami or even biltong. For extra flavour add basil pesto, tomato pesto, caramelised onions, olives or peppadews.
Mini Sausages and Pineapple
Mini sausages should be cooked in a slow cooker, along with some barbecue sauce and pineapple pieces. Once the sausages are hot, slide each onto a toothpick with a piece of pineapple.
Meatballs are a savoury appetizer bite that guests often love. Bite size meatballs can easily be prepared at home with ground mince. Add in bread crumbs, sautéed onions, and a variety of seasoning's and spices. Serve the meatballs on a tray with tooth picks.
Skewers and Kebabs
Sometimes less can be more if it packs a lot of flavour. Kabobs and skewers are an excellent way to provide appetizers to your guests without spending a lot of money. Kabab ingredients can be combined to meet any wedding menu theme.
Fruits and Vegetables
Fruit and vegetables are good for finger food at a reception because they are light and provide an option for people who may not eat meat. Veggies like carrot, broccoli, celery, cauliflower and peppers can be cut up and served with a veggie dip or ranch dressing. Fruits like strawberry, grape, blueberry, apple, melon and watermelon can be cut up and served with yoghurt, chocolate or whip cream dip.
Deviled eggs are classic appetizers appropriate for any occasion. To create the finger foods, simply hard-boil eggs and scoop the yolks into a mixing bowl. Create a smooth and creamy filling by combining the yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste. Pipe the filling into the centres of halved egg whites using a pastry bag equipped with a decorative tip or a plastic bag with a snipped corner. Top the eggs with sprinkles of paprika
Chocolate-covered strawberries are easy to make. You will need some strawberries and a delicious chocolate of your choice to melt and dip it in. Rinse the strawberries in cool water, then dry before continuing. Melt the chocolate in the microwave. When the chocolate is melted, use your fingers to dip each strawberry into the chocolate. Leave the strawberries in the fridge until time to serve.

Twigs and Branches
Make simple centrepieces using long twigs or branches. Cut the twigs and remove the leaves. Spray paint the twigs in your chosen colour. Hang beads or crystals on the twigs for added flair. Collected branches can be gathered together to make a wonderful "wish tree" on which guests hang well wishes for the bride and groom. You could use this centrepiece to decorate the table that holds place cards or the guest book. Alternatively, you could hang the place cards from the tree.
Decorate the room with framed photos. Place several pictures of the couple close to the wedding cake, or a large photo of the couple at the entrance to the hall. You can use photos as centrepieces, too. Vintage photos make any room look elegant.
Floral arrangements are naturally beautiful. The natural beauty of flowers makes them an ideal fit for decorating a wedding reception. Many couples decide to decorate tables at the reception with floral arrangements that complement the theme of the wedding.
Candles create a warm, romantic glow that is perfect for wedding receptions. Decorators can set up a variety of different looks with candles of varying lengths and shapes and by using different candle displays. A collection of white pillar candles of different heights illuminates the room in a cosy warmth and is a centrepiece that will look good as a part of many wedding receptions.
Lanterns can create a romantic setting. Hanging decorations help make the entire reception space, look amazing. Lanterns can be used in a variety of settings, from tree branches to the ceilings of reception sites.
Add plenty of lighting to the reception hall. Group different sized candles together to create centrepieces and hang fairy lights.
